PALMETTO DANCE CENTER’S CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Cheer Dance
Age Requirement: ages 5-up
Class Description: This class is designed to give student the mix between dance and cheer that so many are looking for these days. Dancers will learn
basic dance technique incorporated with cheer routines, dances, stunts, etc. Basic cheer jumps, beginner tumbling exercises, poms, an
and other skills will allow to incorporate the two interest together.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Tennis Shoes
Clogging I
Age Requirement: ages 5-up
Class Description: This class introduces the student to the fundamental dance skills of clogging. Clogging is a percussive dance form which involves
rhythmic foot tapping that can be danced to any style of music. Students will be taught both traditional and contemporary clogging
styles.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Black Clogging Shoes
Clogging II
Age Requirement: ages 7-up
Class Description: This class is a continuation of Clogging I and will continue the fundamental skills of clogging as well as introduce dancers to the
basics of other styles. Students will continue to be taught both traditional and contemporary clogging styles.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Black Clogging Shoes
Combo I
Age Requirement: ages 2-3
Class Description: This class is designed to introduce children to the exciting and creative world of dance. The curriculum consists of an introduction
to basic ballet and tap terminology, placement, and skills. Coordination, social skills and positive behavior are all reinforced in a fun
structured class environment.
Class Attire: Any color tights and leotard; Black Tap Shoes; Pink Ballet Shoes
Combo II
Age Requirement: ages 3-4
Class Description: This class is designed to introduce children to the exciting and creative world of dance. The curriculum consists of a continuation of
the Combo I dance class which includes an introduction to basic ballet and tap terminology, placement, and skills. Coordination,
social skills and positive behavior are all reinforced in a fun structured class environment.
Class Attire: Any color tights and leotard; Black Tap Shoes; Pink Ballet Shoes
Hip Hop
Age Requirement: ages 5-up
Class Description: Students will learn the latest new dance moves that incorporate both street style and jazz dance technique. This style of dance
allows the body to move freely, while integrating the dancer's own personal style.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Black Hip Hop Shoes
Hip Hop/Clogging
Age Requirement: ages 4-6
Class Description: This class is designed to take students who are ready to move at a more accelerated pace. The class curriculum consists of hip hop
and clogging. At this age level the focus is on introducing the basics of each dance style through vocabulary, technique, and
combinations.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Black Hip Hop Shoes and Black Clogging Shoes
Jazz
Age Requirement: ages 5-up
Class Description: This class builds on a dancer's classical training, yet pushes him/her to connect emotionally to music and movement. Jazz technique
is based on the natural movement of the body and is designed to increase body control and coordination.
Class Attire: Any color tights; dance shorts/pants (NO JEANS); T-shirt/tank/leotard; Tan Jazz Shoes
Ballet/Lyrical
Age Requirement: ages 5-up
Class Description: This class will focus on ballet technique as well as teaching students to express emotions through movement. Ballet will incorporate
proper body placement and alignment while focusing on the fundamentals of Classical Ballet. In lyrical, a song's lyrics are a
driving force and key inspiration for the movement and choreography is often emotional, gripping, and exquisitely delicate,

Price List
Registration Fee: $20 for new students and $15 for returning students
Monthly Fee: $40 for first class and $30 for any additional classes and/or additional family members
